We were called out to do a number of jobs for a local township. One job involved the communicating doors between their local library and the municipal building. The doors were controlled on both sides by electronic key switches working an electromagnetic lock. They did not work well and the keys were difficult. We suggested an upgrade to electronic keypads; in this case, an IEI 212i. The customer can change codes at their convenience. The remaking half of the opening is covered with a switch plate.
A Montessori school in Essex County NJ called asking for a new locking system for their main front door. It needed to be a grade 1 computerized keyless entry, which conformed to life safety. They also wanted it to work for different staff schedules, and calendar days.
We installed a Kaba E Plex 5300 series electronic lock, matched with an Arrow 1200 panic bar inside. The customer programs it with a wireless infra red controller and an inexpensive net book computer.
An existing customer called us to ask for an upgrade in Cedar Grove, NJ. We had installed new panic bars on the doors, so now employees needed to look out before answering the door.
